The Allstate Sugar Bowl (Sugar Bowl), one of the “New Year’s Six” bowls, is the second oldest bowl game. This annual collegiate football game is held at the architectural landmark - the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The idea of the game was first presented in 1927, though the first game came to fruition in 1935 at Tulane University. Unofficially affiliated with the SEC, it established an official association in 1976 . Becoming a part of the College Football Playoff system in 2015, it will host national semi-final games every three years unless hosting a playoff game. The Sugar Bowl included a regatta, and a few small parades.
